EP 61: 12/27/23 - A Policeman Killed Because He May Have Asked The Wrong Question

A law enforcement officer was shot and killed when he asked the apprehended suspect a question. It wasn't that the question was the wrong question to be asking the suspect but it was more of a confirmation rather than a question. "You don't have any weapons on you, right?" This is what the officer asked of the suspect, believing that the suspect would tell the truth and he wouldn't have to do a pat-down. This is usually a training issue with officers. It's not the officer's fault that he was shot and killed, but training was an issue.
