Michelle Garnaut is a living legend and an expat pioneer in the true meaning of the words. She’s created not one but three iconic restaurants across China, and has a story unlike any we’d heard before.

She might be best known for the restaurant M on The Bund, which has been around for a mind-bending 17 years, and was the first ever high-end restaurant set up on the bund. Although she’s also an activist, a literary festival founder and one hell of a raconteur.
