Ep 65 | Don’t Impress, Be Impressive

Listen Later

WE'RE GOING TO VANCOUVER! Listen to find out why!

Are you really as productive or as hard-working as you tell yourself? Or could it be that your ego telling you that because it’s what you want to believe?

John calls Amer out on his sleep schedule to make the point that he’s likely not as productive as he thinks he is, and that he’s probably staying up all night working because during the day he’s so distracted trying to keep track of the conversations and storylines happening on social media.

Amer takes this criticism and decides that in addition to his “Sober October” challenge of not using social media, he will also change his sleep schedule to try working during normal daytime hours.

Other notable topics include: VANCOUVER MEETUP IS HAPPENING OCTOBER 27th AT THE STUDENT WORKS OFFICE, how shiny object syndrome can devastate your productivity, more conversation on ego and it’s impairment of your self-perception, and how the sincerity of direct communication has been lost with social media.

This is an amazing episode that fits in perfectly with the Sober October challenges that many of our listeners are undertaking with us. We’d love to get some updates from everyone as you progress through the month so DM us or send us an email at [email protected] if you’re taking a break from social media.

If you would like to come to the Vancouver event on the 27th, please RSVP using our Instagram sorry. Again, if you’re taking a break from social media, email us if you plan on coming. Now get this episode dialled in and enjoy! ☎️☎️☎️
