When a young girl disappeared the morning before Valentine's Day, 1917, police shrugged their shoulders. Provided with clear and definitive leads, they did nothing. Frustrated, her father enlisted the help of the "Female Sherlock Holmes."

Grace Humiston attacked this case head-on, soon putting the NYPD to shame when she solved it right under their noses.
