Attention wives… don’t fall into the “perfection” trap in marriage. Happy doesn’t mean “perfect.”
If you have a “perfect” marriage, I am thrilled for you, and may that never end!
However, if the “perfect” in marriage thing has been lacking in your marriage, this is for you.
This happened to me, too, TWICE before, and it almost cost me a second marriage! I fell into the “perfection” trap!
Marriage is like life, it’s not always perfect… but it’s always worth fighting for it and giving it our all.
This is not to say that sometimes divorce is in fact not only inevitable, but sometimes also necessary. We’re going to keep it real.
That being said, having an amazing and loving marriage does not mean nothing whatsoever about each other ever bugs you… NO WAY! Do not fall for that.
We’re all perfectly imperfect, we make mistakes… allow for improvement in your partner. Forgive shortcomings, and hope he’ll forgive yours.
Embracing our differences… our “gaps” is not only normal, but essential to our happiness in our marital union.
Take into account what painful things in life have shaped your partner’s life, personality, and even things he fears and protects against. Be his refuge, source of healing and strength for him, and you will inspire him to be the same for you.
Allow for growth and repentance… we’re all on a life-long journey of evolution and growth, so live and let live.
Lastly, express yourself, make your desires known to your partner, AND ALSO be mindful of HIS desires as well.
When we’re mindful of each other’s desires and strive to fulfill them, life can’t help but reciprocate in one way or another.
See you next time, friend!!
