What is success? We use that word so often to describe a prominent figure, a business, or a relationship, but how do we actually measure our own success? Is it determined by our net worth? A certain level of knowledge? The level of freedom we have? This is the revolving theme of this week’s episode, as we try to figure it out for ourselves.
John (having left school to self-teach) asks Austin what he has learned from his time in school, whether it is practical in the real world, and if it was worth the time and money spent on it. This leads into a debate about whether he would have been better off investing his tuition money into a business and learning from first-hand experience.
Austin admits that yes, he could make more money if he weren’t committed to school, but that extra income isn’t necessarily the most important thing for him. He explains why he chose to continue his education, how he plans to use his degree to complement his business experience, and how his real-world experience allows him to get so much more out of his master’s degree.
