The Women's march has come a long way since March 3, 1913 when 5000 (mostly white) women gathered at the Nation's capital demanding the right to vote. On January 18, 2017 America witnessed the largest single day of protest in the history of the United States, with estimates ranging between 3.2 and 5.2 million people in attendance (nationally). The crowd that gathered in Washington DC has been estimated at one million.

On the King Day Holiday, a diverse group of women in the Chicagoland area will be gathering for the New Lenox Women's March. We talk with 3 of the leaders, Itedal Shalabi, Emily Biegel, and Chakeenah Simms about leadership, inclusion, and service.
