Because of the Sober October challenge, Amer has had a lot of time to fill. What did he do with it all? He started searching for the best short stories in the world. Throughout this episode we take turns telling a few of our favourite short stories and discuss the meaning behind them which leads us into many fascinating conversations about whether we agree with the character’s decisions, what we would do in their shoes, and how we can learn from them.

We eventually shift to the subject of money and spending habits where we try to answer the questions: How do we prioritize knowledge vs income opportunities? What types of things are worth spending on now instead of saving for the future? Will Amer finally admit his appreciation for delayed discounting?
