It's challenging to work towards something without seeing any immediate outcome.

Job searching is often like that. Lots of effort and hope... Met with a whole lot of nothing.

My initial excitement and optimism took a hit this week.

I haven't been hearing back from anything that I've applied for.

Is there anything worse than crickets?

Getting rejected isn't fun, but at least it's something.
