“I seen the Ramones in Huntington Beach in 76 they played the Golden Bear I didn’t go to that show but they played a local street fair the next day it was called the The Fest  Fair it was off of Beach and Atlanta  (theres a track of homes there now.) and Im 15 years and I walking around chasing chicks trying to get loaded and trying to get someone to buy me a beer. and um you just being the little degenerate I was.  and umm I remember hearing this godawful noise and I was walking by and seen these guys with long hair and leather jackets you know 1234 1234

…and you in 76 I didn’t understand that yet you know cause I was still listing to Hendrix and Zeppelin and whatever an um so about 6 months later they came back and played the Goldenwest Ballroom in Norwalk with Van Halen opening and so I went to see Van Halen and Van Halen ended up not playing that show it was with the Dogs and the Ramones headlining. 

When the Ramones came out and it was like 1234 1234 and I looked up and Im like “Hey thats those same like dirty stinky bikers that i’d seen last year but this time I sat there and watched them and the next day I went out and bought a leather jacket and it was like changed my life forever you know it was like that was my identifying moment in you punk rock for me it like wow this is it right here.”
