Chris welcomes to Ian Cook to the show, an artist whose work is truly one-of-a-kind and is known throughout the motorsport world!
Also known as POPBANGCOLOUR , Ian creates his masterpieces using - wait for it! - radio-control cars and parts. His unique style quickly gained gained him recognition from brands such as Jaguar, Land Rover & Aston Martin, TV exposure on ITV News, Blue Peter, The One Show & Top Gear, with the turning-point in his career being the creation of a three-storey-high painting of Lewis Hamilton for Reebok in 2008 which was displayed at Tower Bridge.
In this interview, Ian recounts these memories and more, including how Covid-19 forced him to find a new way to create art at home - resulting in his now famous #ContinuousCar project, which has seen him produce single-line drawings of over 1000 cars! BTCC fans in particular will recognise Ian's work from his appearances at several events over the years and the #ContinuousCar artwork which adorned the official event programmes at both Thruxton meetings in 2022.
