“Trauma is anything that changes for the worse. The way that you see yourself, the way that you see other people, the way that you see the world or the way you see God.” -Dr. Anita Phillips
God can use us however He wants but I’ve learned over the years that I can be useful to the body or I can really grab hold of deeper things in the Lord and allow Him to touch EVERY area of my life (not just some parts) so that I can be the MOST useful to my family, my friends and the body around me.
That God-awareness and being able to recognize things in our lives are important and valuable in the kingdom of God. If you need help with unprocessed pain, reach out to someone in your local church or seek a professional counselor.
My friend Vanessa Cruz is a licensed therapist.
