Zach welcomes Filmmaker and Film Historian Henry Jarvis (Chewing The Scenery, Reel Nerds Podcast) to to discuss the introspective and emotional world of Kenji Mizoguchi in the landmark 1954 film, “SANSHO THE BAILIFF”.
Buckle up for a discussion that dives into the history of Japanese cinema, Mizoguchi’s place in it’s legacy, the haunting imagery and reflection found in the film, the surprising scale of a truly intimate story, and the importance of discovering and engaging with World Cinema.
