Four naturalistas, Hostess with the Mostest Shanell, co-host Kafaya, Artist and 'Nellie's Compass' Blogger Nathalie Vil, and Registered Nurse Tashia, discuss the history and politics of Black/natural hair, when and why we went natural (Shanell has a flashback of chemical burns), the negative and positive comments we've received while natural, texture hierarchy and discrimination (aka "good and bad hair"), recognize our loc'ed brothas and sistas, share our dating and workplace experiences while natural (someone tried Nathalie!), and recall epic and controversial moments in natural hair history (Shea Moisture, we still remember!). We also give words of encouragement and tips to those who are transitioning, newly natural, or contemplating going natural.
