With the out-pouring of interest in last Sunday’s 9:30 am service on “Evolution and Christian Theology,” we decided to dive in.
Cold open featuring J.I. Packer saying a literal view of creation is Naive.
Then we play, Tim Keller saying he doesn’t believe in a literal 6 day creation or a world-wide catastrophic flood; Along with several other prominent Christian’s saying similar things.
We discuss the difference in the pastor verses the professor. A pastor must create a culture or a certain mindset within the church, whereas a professor does not have that concern.
Then for the rest of the episode we discuss J.I. Packer’s thoughts on evolution and creation: The good, the bad and the ugly.
Why does Packer not think this is an issue of vital importance?
Where does Packer take the evolutionist to task?
How does he view Genesis as a whole?
Inquisition: How does evolution relate to infant baptism and hermeneutics? I’m asking this because it appears that many reformed scholars are given to theistic evolution.
