Gabriel Gravagno is a composer and jazz drummer on the front range. He has hosted the Friday jam session at the Mercury Café since 2020, and has been an active member of the Denver music scene his whole life, starting his musical journey by taking Violin lessons from his mother as a child, becoming a songwriter and drummer in his teens, and beginning to play jazz and pursue drums and composing seriously after high school.
Gabriel Gravagno is the leader and founder of Messenger Music Collective, a Denver based consortium focused on playing jazz, latin jazz, free jazz, and groove music with multiple iterations and lineups including jazz combos, RnB songwriter groups, and 8-10 piece bands. He holds a performance degree from CU Denver, and has studied with Colin Stranahan, Todd Reid, Ari Hoenig, Allison Miller, and Tommy Campbell. He has played at Denver Venues such as, Dazzle, Larimer Lounge, The Bluebird, and the Brown Palace, The Muse, and the Century Room, and has been a mainstay of creating a music community at the Mercury Café since 2015.
