Ep. 71 | The Most Empowering Decision You Can Make

Listen Later

It's true … we've all felt stuck.

Feeling stuck can feel helpless and it can be a struggle to become "unstuck" because it's easy to believe the story that you're telling yourself. You're just struggling to get the results and when you look at your battle it's easy to think tell yourself things like, "well if the economy was better", "if my spouse was on board", or "if I had more money".

Notice … all these scenarios are outside of your control. It's frustrating because you intuitively know that if nothing changes then it will lead to a life characterized by bitterness, frustration, and broken relationships. At best life will just be just mediocre and you'll settle because the only way you can change something that is outside of your control is to resort to manipulation.

But manipulation feels yucky and not the person you want to be.

In today's episode, I want to talk about taking personal responsibility because it's the most empowering decision that you can make when it comes to your results, pursuing your God-given assignment, and leaving a powerful legacy for those behind you.

Key Takeaways:

  • Manipulation is the only tool for change if you're trying to control something or someone outside of yourself
  • If you say, this circumstance makes me feel this way, you have omitted the personal responsibility of the thought you created around the circumstance.
  • Emotions are beautiful because they show us how to evolve, how to change our thinking, and what to create.
  • Emotions are not the problem. Avoiding or escaping emotions is the problem because that's where we get into all the drama and all the fiction.
