Be Love. Do Good. with Kristi Hayes

Ep 73 How in the world am I supposed to love everyone?

Listen Later

When we say love everyone, don’t we want to preface  it with….everyone but…..or I can love almost everyone but….that big but gives us some trouble. So in this day and age, when Covid-19, and the upcoming election, and racial tensions have seemed to have us doing the opposite of love, how do we ACTUALLY live out this statement?

This week we are talking about our last phrase of our lunchbox note, Love Everyone,  which will also be a series on our podcast this fall. You can go to our website www.bestronstory.com or check out episode 25 to see how a lunchbox note inspired our family, our company, our podcast and our new children’s book. Each month this fall we will be diving into each phrase, series style.

Each week in August I have talked about what each phrase has meant to us.

This week I will be going talking about what  loving everyone can mean. I talk about how hard it is to hate someone close up, and if we really actually believe we are to love our neighbor, how do we do that if we don’t know them.

What I have found is that love always requires sacrifice. Always. True love always requires us to get uncomfortable. If we are truly about loving others most of the time it means setting aside our needs and wants and coming alongside someone else’s needs and wants.

There has never been a better time than the present, in this social climate to learn how to love others, even when we don’t want to.

Dive in with me this week to what this can look like.
