In this episode of Coming to Your Senses, Jules is joined by her long-time friend Jillian Thomas, a successful entrepreneur who built and sold a financial services business. Their conversation reflects on themes of retirement, recalibration, courage, and living with intention. Jill shares how the COVID-19 pandemic gave her space to reconsider her life, leading her to plan her business exit and think about how to spend "Thomas time" beyond work. She highlights the importance of investing in people, creating strong teams, and the value of baby steps when working toward big goals.
About Jillian:
Jillian had a over 45 years in the financial services, with over 30 as a financial planner until retiring at the end of March 2025, after selling the business at the end of August 2023.
Professionally Jill worked with individuals, businesses, charities, and inheritors of wealth, creating their financial plans and navigating them through the ever-changing financial services landscape.
Jillian created multi award winning Future Life Wealth Management in 2009. Jillian and the business were recognised for 10 years as one of the top 100 financial planners by New Model Advisor in the UK. A former President of Sheffield Chamber of Commerce, at the time the second female to hold that position in the organisation's history, and then joined East Midlands Chamber of Commerce as a Patron.
Working with younger people, Jill prided herself in working along those wishing to come into the financial services industry, assisting them with their education and experience, creating the next generation for the industry.Jil is now enjoying as she calls it 'Thomas Time' travelling, and learning new skills including wood turning.
