When I was in middle school and high school, I went to the principal's office fairly often... because he was often in trouble with me.
You read that right. I would go because there was something I didn't like about the way the school was being run, and I intended to fix it.
For reasons I'll get into in future content, I learned early on to not accept things just because some authority says so.
I respected authority, but I respected my own ability to influence that authority as well.
Too many people have learned to just go along, to just let things be, to not make waves.
There is great merit in knowing how to pick your battles, but there is no virtue in allowing yourself to be walked over.
You can't wait for the right time to make a change in your life if things aren't the way you want. Now is the right time. It gets better because you make it better.
And if things aren't better? March back into the principal's office and talk to him again.
