Majid Salek Mohammadi was an Iranian serial killer who murdered at least 27 women between 1981 and 1985. Mohammadi was known as the "Strangler of Tehran" because he would strangle his victims with their own scarves or hijabs. He was also known as the "Vampire of Tehran" because he was suspected of drinking the blood of some of his victims. Mohammadi was a master manipulator and a skilled construction worker, and he was able to elude capture for several years. He was eventually arrested in 1985 and confessed to his crimes. He was sentenced to death and executed by firing squad on May 8, 1986.
