‘A fish rots from the head down’ is the ancient proverb we all have heard and understand to be true. In other words, corruption of anything; a country, government, business, church or family, always starts from those at the top and then trickles its way down through the system to those at the bottom. 

We all KNOW this happens…but do we really care or want to do anything when we receive some benefits? After all. It’s a dog eat dog world!

This is what the beginning chapters of Micah talk about, much like other books of the Minor Prophets. He goes on to explain the injustice and wickedness of Israel’s leaders and the judgement they’ve brought upon themselves!

If God thinks it’s just to punish an entire nation of people for the evil done by its government or ruling authorities…do we think he’s changed his mind now? Do we think for some reason he’s gone away from that standard? Or is it more, you get the government you deserve not the one you want..?
