This one goes out to all the motherless women - particularly those whose mothers are still alive, somewhere. Why is it that so many strong, incredible women have such poor relationships with their mothers? Mother-daughter relationships can be complicated, and incredibly critical to a growing girl. Many of us work through those growing pains and form solid bonds with our Moms. And many of us eventually make the impossible decision to extricate ourselves from a toxic relationship with the one person who is meant to be there, always. Elisha and Shannon share painful stories of their own mothers, unearth some uncanny similarities and patterns, and are both resolute in making their own parenting decisions based on what they were denied as kids, like accountability, being present, and unconditional love.
