Ep. 8 - Self-Care: An Introduction to Meditation with Julie Vang

Listen Later

Julie was born and raised on the occupied Wahekute territory (St. Paul, Minnesota). Julie is a second-generation Hmong American, spiritual writer, community builder, and certified yoga teacher. She has a passion to amplify cultural narratives, hold brave and sacred spaces, decolonize mindsets, and collectively liberate. Her mission is to cultivate healing, equitable and inclusive communities to thrive. She loves sipping on boba tea, meditating, hiking, having heart-to-heart conversations and will serve as our guide for meditation on today’s episode.

Julie and I discussed:

  • What meditation is and what it is not
  • Misconceptions that are often roadblocks to meditating
  • Benefits of meditation
  • How she personally struggles with meditation
  • How meditation looks like
  • Valuable tips to keep in mind when beginning meditation or as a seasoned meditator
  • A special guided meditation session focused on self-compassion curated by Julie herself.

and so much more! I hope as you listen to this episode, you feel supported in your journey as a mother and know you are never alone.

As always, I see you, hear you, value you and will appreciate if you can leave an honest review on the podcast.

Love,

Linda
