This has been by far the hardest podcast episode to record in the history of podcast recording for me. How do you give words to something that is so intimately known and felt? How do you give words to something that is so vast and intangible?
I do my best and still feel I'm coming up far short, but maybe that's because language doesn't do God justice. Maybe that's why God is described through music and art and poetry.
Yet, I think this conversation is important as I know the word "God" carries a lot of meaning and association for many of us.
For years, I wouldn't speak that word because of all the memories and connotations it brought up. For the longest time, God felt like it was a word I could only use if I belonged to a specific faith. And it's only been this past year that I've officially reclaimed that word for myself. It's been incredibly healing and restorative to reclaim a word that means to much to me personally yet has such a different meaning than it once did.
On today's episode, I tell you, quite vulnerably, what I mean when I say the word God, but I want to hear from you.
Meet me on my FB page at 11:30 CST for After the Episode where we'll discuss together <3

As I mentioned at the beginning of this episode, there are countless ways you can get involved to support those impacted by Hurricane Harvey.
Breck and I will be donating to the Texas Diaper Bank and the San Antonio Humane Society, but other organizations you can support can be found here. As always, do your due diligence on the charities you support. This Vox article lists a lot of great charities that are local to the Houston area and have boots on the ground right now!!
