MOLD

  • Mycotoxins suppress immune system, even reduce effectiveness of antimicrobial treatments via biofilm
  • May cause cognitive impairment or “brain fog, “ with difficulty thinking, concentrating, or with memory
  • Impaired neuronal plasticity; impaired neuronal plasticity adversely affects everything from your ability to learn and retain new information to overall cognitive function
  • Mood swings, depression, anxiety, rapid weight change, chronic fatigue, respiratory issues, chronic sinusitis, headaches
  • If you suspect mold, things your provider should recommend:

    1) Remove the offending agent

    2) Lab workup

    3) Incorporate Binders (e.g. charcoal, bentonite clay, and chitosan)

    4) Calm mold-induced inflammation

    5) Assess microbiota and hormonal balance

    6) Optimal gut, liver, and gallbladder function are critical to be able to eliminate mold toxins

    7) Visual Contrast Sensitivity (VCS)

    LYME

    Classically a deer tick bite that transmits borrelia burgdorferi (bullseye rash)

    May cause the following symptoms:

    • Debilitating fatigue
    • Headaches
    • Muscle pain
    • Arthritis
    • Numbness
    • Tingling
    • Nerve pain and weakness
    • Heart problems
    • Psychiatric symptoms: anxiety, depression, irritability, psychosis, and more
    • Difficulty with thinking, memory, language and math skills
    • Sleep disturbance
    • Problems with vision and hearing
    • If you suspect Lyme, things your provider should recommend:

      1)  Antibiotics for 2-4 weeks

      2)  Lab workup

      3)  Lyme symptoms are often linked to heavy metal toxicity (Hg, Pb, Sb, Cd, etc)

      4)  Test and chelate if above found

      5)  Hyperbaric Oxygen

      6)  Saunas and steam rooms

      7)  NAD+, Melatonin, Methylene Blue

      8) Fish oil
