It’s been just over two weeks since Tucker Carlson handed a microphone to Nick Fuentes—who openly calls praises Hitler, mocks the Holocaust as “baking six million cookies,” and says women should “shut up” and blacks should be “imprisoned.” Fuentes isn’t a shock-jock provocateur. He’s an actual Nazi who blends white-supremacist ideology with pseudo-Christian language to radicalize young conservatives.
The fallout has been immediate. Republican voter enthusiasm cratered in last week’s elections while the right spent its energy debating why an icon of the right, who frequently shares a stage with Trump, was platforming and promoting a Holocaust denier. The day before those elections, Marjorie Taylor Greene went on The View and refused to disavow Fuentes—cementing for millions of viewers the image of a movement flirting with Nazism.
