Who pays the price when we believe we can’t be wrong?
What happens when the people making the biggest decisions in the world believe their certainty is sacred … and no longer ask what it might cost if they’re wrong?
In this episode of Spiritual Geography, I explore the danger of sacred certainty – when beliefs become so unquestionable that they no longer have to answer to the harm they may cause. When certainty is paired with power, the stakes are no longer theoretical. They’re measured in human lives.
But this isn’t only about leaders or global decisions. The same instinct exists in all of us – the pull toward certainty, especially in moments of fear and powerlessness.
So what do we do when we don’t have control over what’s happening around us?
This episode offers a different starting point: not certainty, but humility and grounding. Through reflection, a return to Mark Twain’s The War Prayer, and the Ho’oponopono practice, I explore how staying rooted in love can help us see more clearly and take meaningful action, even in uncertain times.
We may not control the outcome. But we can choose the posture we bring to this moment.
We can choose love.
