We had an experience at our home the other day that really frustrated us. Our kids seemed so self-centered and we wanted to figure out how to help them see the needs of others better. We've done episodes on sharing (ep. 72) and waiting (ep. 4), but we decided empathy was what we really needed to learn more about. In this episode we dive into what empathy is and different things to do to help your children learn to have more empathy. We found some awesome resources if you want to dive a bit deeper than we did. Here are the links to the websites we referred to throughout the episode.https://www.zerotothree.org/resources/5-how-to-help-your-child-develop-empathyhttps://www.pbs.org/parents/learn-grow/age-7/social-skills/empathyhttps://mcc.gse.harvard.edu/resources-for-families/5-tips-cultivating-empathyhttps://www.parentingscience.com/teaching-empathy-tips.htmlGrowth Mindset Charts and Key Strategies by Age: https://biglifejournal.com/blogs/blog/key-strategies-teach-children-empathyBecoming an effective emotion coach: https://www.parentingscience.com/emotion-coaching.htmlDon't forget to follow us on Instagram! https://www.instagram.com/alexistannerlane We’d love to hear your comments on this episode! And if you liked the episode, leave us a review!
