Did you know there are three steps (or phases) for moving through change like a BOSS? Listen to hear our personal examples and stories of how this works and how you can feel more confident navigating change in your own life.
Just for fun we'll list the steps here too:
Step 1: (This step is un-skippable! We never quite make it through the steps if we haven't truly experienced step 1). Gain the self-awareness to really understand how the feelings you're experiencing are coming from your own thoughts. My feelings come from ME, not from my circumstances. Honor those thoughts and feelings, and allow yourself to feel what feels appropriate to feel. When you really understand that you are the creator of those thoughts and feelings, then you are ready to move along to the next step.
Step 2: Intentionally shift your thinking to something more empowering (our favorite is gratitude), and look for opportunity in the change you're experiencing. You might find some peace or excitement or hope.
Step 3: Use the new feeling to drive you to nurturing the part/s of you that are constant. Sometimes we tie our value to our circumstances (rather than remembering that our value is constant), and then when the circumstance changes, we feel like our value has also changed. Nurturing the parts of us that are constant reinforces our value outside of accomplishments, titles, or careers.
