Ep 89: Interview with Victor Echevarria, founder of Remedy

Listen Later

The National Center for Health Statistics reports more than 1 billion health related physician and hospital visits occur every year with 83.2% of adults and 92.4% of children seeing a healthcare professional at least once per year. Those are some enormous numbers in terms of quantity so naturally you'd expect some billing mistakes...but how many are there? What if you're the victim of being overcharged? Will you notice it? Can you get it fixed? How much time and energy will it take?

Remedy has identified this massive problem and they are now your go-to solution for finding and fixing healthcare/medical billing errors. If you submit your bills to Remedy and they don't find any mistakes than it costs you nothing. However if they find some billing errors they will fight on your behalf to get the charges reversed and will keep a fee of approximately 15% (but capped at $99). Now that many of us are paying bigger premiums and larger copays our out-of-pocket expenses are on the rise so a service like Remedy is becoming a necessity.

In this interview I spoke with Victor, the co-founder, about why he started the company, just how massive this market opportunity really is, how they are growing and acquiring customers, the fundraising process, how they're spending that capital, building a strong company culture, how they plan to partner with the insurance companies and much more.
