In this episode of The MoCo Show, Alex is joined by Gavin, our producer, to talk about the peaceful protests that have been occurring in Montgomery County surrounding the Black Lives Matter movement, as well as how things are beginning to open back up post-lockdown. Alex raises the idea that Gaithersburg is considering lowering the voting age for city elections, and Gavin chimes in with his thoughts on the matter. Alex provides some insights from Eric Heckman, owner of Caddie’s in Bethesda who released 10 tips on going to a restaurant in this health climate. Alex and Gavin take some time to commemorate the life of Wes Unseld, a former NBA basketball player and coach for the Washington Bullets. Alex discusses some more openings and closings that have occurred recently, and discusses with Gavin what they would like to see come to the area. Alex wraps up the show by sharing a list of black-owned restaurants to support in MoCo and the surrounding area!
