For me, finding forgiveness meant experiencing peace and joy!

Hi, I’m Lindy Kerby and you are listening to “Hope Songs” where I share inspirational music and messages to help you feel the spirit and give you hope through whatever it is that you’re going through. Today’s podcast is about being able to find forgiveness.

Sometimes it’s not easy to forgive, but learning how forgiveness leads to happiness, helps you to have hope and to take the steps to be able to do it. You’ll also get to listen to one of my favorite piano songs from my “Little Miracles” CD called, “Finding Forgiveness”. This song came from a challenging time when I was learning how to forgive, but experiencing that peace that was coming from forgiving, It was something I never wanted to forget!  I’ll share with you the song and also share a few of the experiences behind what was helping me to become a strong person and has helped me to be able to continue to find forgiveness.

Blessings of Forgiving

Like I mentioned before, at the time I wrote this song, I was experiencing a happiness that I had never experienced before. It was this peace of having a burden lifted that I didn’t even realize I’d been carrying. You don’t know sometimes when you’re carrying a weight until all of the sudden it’s lifted, and you don’t have that weight to carry around anymore. It felt amazing, and I didn’t want to have to carry that weight ever again.

I felt free. I felt light. It was a wonderful feeling. 

One thing I learned from that experience is that God doesn’t tell us to forgive and to keep commandments just because he’s trying to make us miserable and trying to put us in some kind of bondage but it’s because ultimately he knows what will help us to feel more peace and to feel more happy and to feel more light. I was experiencing so many of those blessings from other things I was also doing in trying to be more honest and trying to read my scriptures more. Each thing I worked on, I was able to recognize the blessing that came - almost immediat...
