If I had a dime for every time I've heard this piece of STINKY marketing advice, I would be a billionaire.

Look, I get it. It sounds logical.

It makes you feel in control. 

So, you go out and ask a bunch of random people what they are struggling with.

You go deeper and ask them why... and what they think they need to solve that problem..

But all that leaves you with is a mod podge of information that is tainted with your biases.

INFORMATION DOES NOT EQUAL INSIGHT.

Market research the typical way is just a bunch of information and information is pointless if it doesn't give you INSIGHT into the RIGHT ideal client.
