Ep-9 Life Long Learner w/ Joshua Lowery
Who is Joshua Lowery:
Joshua Lowery is originally from Seattle WA where he played basketball for legendary Coach Mike Bethea (Ba They a) at Rainier Beach HS before moving to Phoenix after his Sophomore season and attending Desert Vista HS where in 2008, he helped the team to win the only boy's basketball state championship in school history.
Upon graduation the point guard was recruited to play Division I basketball at Pepperdine University were he played 3 seasons, playing in a total of 90 games, starting 52. As a team captain and leader one of his best games was against the hometown Sun Devils, leading Pepperdine to victory with a team-high 13 pts, 8 assists and no turnovers. Upon completion of his junior season Lowery chose to return home to Grand Canyon University where he played with his younger brother Jeff Lowery for a season. The team went 23-8 and Lowery earned 1st Team All-Conference, 2nd Team All-Region honors and was ultimately drafted in the NBA Development League/G-League, Phoenix Suns affiliate, Bakersfield Jam. After his brief stint and some soul searching, Lowery decided to let go of playing the game and transitioned to coaching the game and pursuing his passions in economic development at the University of Central Arkansas where he was fortunate enough to become one of the youngest coaches in Division I at the age of 25. He coached his younger brother Jeff Lowery there as well. Lowery graduated with his Master of Science degree in Community and Economic Development and decided to start pursuing his goals even further and moved back to Phoenix Arizona.
Currently, Joshua is the Sales & Marketing Manager for B2Gnow, the Nation's Leading Diversity Management Software with clients like the State of NY, City of Phoenix, City of Seattle and others. Lowery is also the Head Coach of the 15U Nike EYB travel team here in Arizona, Arizona Reign Supreme. He has been the Associate Head Coach at St. Mary's HS for the past two seasons and is the Co-Founder of an exciting startup bringing enlightening technologies to the world, starting with hydrogenated and oxygenated water.
