Michael Connolly was the MLA for Calgary-Hawkwood from 2015 to 2019, and one of the first openly LGBT elected officials in the Province of Alberta to serve in the Legislature. During his time he sponsored numerous bills and became a champion of LGBT rights in Alberta.
