Lori Barr is Co-Founder and CEO of Raise The Barr which she founded with her son, Anthony Barr. Inspired by their life experiences, Raise The Barr aims to increase opportunity and economic mobility for single parents and their children through higher education. Her own educational journey includes attainment of both post-secondary and post-graduate degrees, while raising her sons on her own.

While a young single mother she experienced the need for government assistance, and at a later point in her adult life was justice involved. These experiences have affirmed her belief that redemption is possible through kindness and forgiveness, and that love takes many forms. She is steadfast in building better systems that value human dignity, opportunity for all, and a commitment to new ways of thinking.

Lori spent over 25 years in public and private education serving in multiple roles that ultimately led her to the nonprofit sector where she has held executive positions overseeing operations and strategic planning. In her free time Lori enjoys reading about history, culture, and the social conditions plaguing society, cooking, and long walks with her dog. She adores her two children, Anthony (32) and Nicholas (23) and is a devoted wife to her husband of 4 years.
