EP #9- TACOS - Ft. Bhuvana: Founder- Women In Tech collectives
Today we have Ms. Bhuvana Meenakshi Koteeswaran with us. Bhuvana is the founder of Women In Tech collectives, India (a self-help women in tech community); Socio Tech researcher, and VR-AR/ multidimensional space enthusiast. Bhuvana is also an open source enthusiast and is recognized at Mozilla Festival as a Wrangler+Mentor and also is a Mozilla Representative. She also contributes to Wikimedia projects and has published research work on Bridging the Gender Gap in Indian Language Wikimedia communities.
Bhuvana strongly believes that women must be an integrated part of technology and has partnered with organizations that mainly focus on women's empowerment. She has founded a self-help women's community called WITc-. Women in Tech collectives, India is a small community led by women tech enthusiasts from a small rural region in South India. The community helps address the employment needs for women, supporting them to pursue careers in varied technology fields. She is a Women Techmakers Ambassador which is an initiative by Google to help women in tech globally to collaborate and represent their works. Bhuvana has also worked with the Indian Defence Research and Development team on a project related to Indian Navy satellite systems.
While not engaged in technology, she likes to perform traditional dance and play chess. She is a state-level awardee in Bharatanatyam and Chess and a graded certificate holder in Kathak too.
