Cliff and I talk with Jake about the book, about the importance of journalists taking a stand when confronted with lies and indecency, about Jake's personal interest in veterans' issues, about Tamika Mallory and her embrace of Louis Farrakhan, and about Jake's date with Monica Lewinsky way back in 1997 before the scandal blew up.

A quick quote from our interview, where Jake talks about when he feels it necessary to take a public stand, speaking out, as a journalist:
"Where I feel comfortable drawing a line is lies -- calling out lies, some things are true and some things are not true -- and indecency. I think that there are certain standards for adult behavior that we can agree on, such as: It's important to not make fun of people with disabilities; it's important to treat races, religions, creeds etc. equally, and not display prejudice; bigotry is offensive and wrong. Another example might be making fun of, or saying 'John McCain isn't a war hero because he was captured, and I prefer people who weren't captured.' These are indecent things to say. They are empirically indecent."
