Ep. 93: The Sound of Success: How to Ensure High-Quality Audio from Your Podcast Guests

Listen Later

Welcome to Podtastic Audio! Today we'll be talking about an important aspect of podcasting - guest audio quality.

So, what exactly is an audio double-ender? Put simply, it's a technique that involves recording each participant in a podcast episode separately. This means that the host and the guest each record their own audio track using their own recording equipment. Once the recording is complete, the separate tracks are then synced together to create a final product with high-quality audio. Why is guest audio quality so important to your audience? Well, when someone tunes in to your podcast, they want to be able to hear everything that's being said clearly. Poor audio quality can be distracting and make it difficult for your listeners to follow along with the conversation. In fact, studies have shown that poor audio quality is one of the top reasons why listeners will stop listening to a podcast. Additionally, guest audio quality can impact the overall professionalism of your podcast. If your guests are hard to hear or sound like they're recording from a tin can, it can make your podcast seem less polished and less credible. But, by using an audio double-ender, you can improve the guest audio quality in your podcast. This technique ensures that each person's audio is recorded in the best possible way, which can result in a much better listening experience for your audience. First and foremost, it's important to communicate the importance of high-quality audio to your guests. Let them know that you'll be using an audio double-ender and explain what that means for them. You may even want to provide them with some basic equipment recommendations or tips for recording their audio. Another important aspect of using an audio double-ender is syncing the separate audio tracks together. There are a number of software programs that can help with this, but it's important to test out the process before recording an entire episode. You don't want to find out after the fact that there was an issue with syncing the audio!

If your guest doesnt have a decent sounding microphone, just buy them on of these, and let them keep it. It's selling on Amazon as of now for only $15 USD.
