John has taken a big stride this year, having already booked $500k+ of work for the summer, bringing his workload to a level that he hasn’t seen before. Naturally, the more that is on your plate, the more frequently issues will arise. John points out that he’s having an increasingly harder time blocking the noise out since undesirable situations are happening nearly every day at his size.
Of course, running a growing business also comes with the perks of increased choice in how you allocate your resources (mainly time & money), which has become a big interest of John’s. This part of the conversation focuses on the perks of incorporating, the different structures that have proven useful for the 3 of us, and how growing as capitalists will ultimately depend on their ability to allocate resources effectively into their businesses and outside investments.
Would Amer, Austin, & John make good partners in a joint venture? This is a question that they take seriously in this episode as they explore what the next stage of growth looks like beyond what they’re currently doing.
