For our very first episode of the new year, we are joined by Founder & CEO of Civically Engaged, Hailey Nolasco. Hailey discusses her upbringing and heritage & how some unfortunate events lead her to tumultuous times in her life. She follows that up with how one event steered her back in the right direction and what she does now professionally. We get into what made her start her non-profit organization, Civically Engaged and what the goal of the company is, the current state of NYC in terms of violence & our youth, the numerous programs out there for troubled youth, how important participating in politics is, her thoughts on how Civically Engaged stays true to women empowerment in comparison to other events and lastly her new role as a professor at Brooklyn College.
