When Momo Vuyisich was growing up in the midst of civil war in Yugoslavia, his only shot at escape was to be one of the very few people accepted on merit into medical school. He earned his way out of the country, and eventually into working at the Los Alamos National Laboratory as a scientific developer of biodefense for United States national security.  Today, he’s the Chief Science Officer at Viome, reimagining the way we understand and care for the human body.   This fascinating conversation includes: What happened to Momo when he tried a ketogenic diet The type of carbohydrate that Momo discovered was exacerbating his rheumatoid arthritis The future of chronic disease treatment is… food!   Episode References:  Responses to mammalian carbohydrates Microbiome and glycemic response   Watch the full-length video version of any Moonshots episode here on YouTube.   Connect with Dr. Momo on LinkedIn.
