Back in 2012 when I was still in fitness, a friend recommended that I follow JJ Virgin because she was up to "big things" in the industry. It was only a month or so after I did that her son was in an awful hit and run accident. I followed her posts and updates over the ensuing weeks and months to see how it would unfold and was amazed and delighted to see that against major odds, he pulled through and was able to not only live, but recover beyond anyone's wildest imagining - except hers. JJ was pulling for him to be 110% the whole time. In this interview we talk about how she made it through those difficult times, and is still doing so. And my favorite part is this - during a time when a lot of people would have totally excused it if she dropped everything, her healthy habits and self-care, her business, and any other obligations, she doubled down on all of it. She shares her reason why in today's interview and it's so so good. Enjoy! About JJ Virgin: Celebrity nutrition and fitness expert JJ Virgin teaches clients how to lose weight and master their mindset so they can lead bigger, better lives. She is author of 4 NY Times bestsellers: The Virgin Diet, The Virgin Diet Cookbook, JJ Virgin’s Sugar Impact Diet, and JJ Virgin’s Sugar Impact Diet Cookbook. Her memoir Miracle Mindset: A Mother, Her Son, & Life’s Hardest Lessons explores the powerful lessons in strength and positivity that she learned after her son Grant was the victim of a brutal hit-and-run accident. JJ hosts the popular JJ Virgin Lifestyle Show podcast and regularly writes for Huffington Post, Rodale Wellness, and other major blogs and magazines. She’s also a frequent guest on TV and radio and speaks at major events. In addition to her work with nutrition and fitness, JJ is also a business coach and founded the premier health entrepreneur event and community, The Mindshare Summit.
