On EP 29: of The Thinkergirls Pod Channel, Stacey June and Kristie Mercer creators of some of the most successful female podcasts and content in Australia chat pop culture and news, Thinkergirl style. Stace shares the controversial online post by poet Janne Robinson that calls for women to stop getting plastic surgery + Kristie tells us why the movie ‘Love Simon’ is so important.

Stace reads out the controversial post in full (3:01) Kristie’s been saying she’s wanted a boob job for years, but does she still feel that way after doing a heap of self-work? (5:31) Writer Liz Gilbert’s post defending the choice of women to change their bodies if they want to (8:24) When we make choices about what looks ‘good’ do we really? Or is it commercial media’s message jammed down our throats? (11:56) Why do people always turn on women so savagely for having an opinion that’s different to the masses? (14:19) Kristie explains the movie ’Love Simon’ in case you don’t know anything about it (19:39) the movie was incredibly corny, but can’t it still be inspiring? (20:40) Stace thinks that the movie was damaging because of it’s responsibility to portray the story in a more realistic way (21:44) But isn’t that better that there not being a movie about a gay teenager? (23:01)
