On this edition of The 15 Minute Mixdown, host Jon Stinson is joined by JD Tiner to talk about some recording and mixing techniques. We’ve done a couple episodes like this in the past, and since it’s been a while since we’ve featured a recording topic, we thought it was about time for another.

On this episode, Jon and JD talk about recording kick drum and bass guitar, as well as managing the low end of your mixes. They also discuss some philosophies in dealing with the room you’re working in, as well as monitor position.

If you’re interested in some other episodes that feature recording topics, check out EP: 008 – Recording Techniques and EP: 010 – All about recording drums!
