Are you bold enough to turn your current employer into a full-time client? Dustin Welborn, founder of Down In Front Productions, achieved that just that a year ago.
Down In Front Productions (whose name was agreed upon based off of one-upping a competitor, Row 27 Productions) is a full-service videography group who specializes in sports, wedding and business production.
He admits in today's episode that, prior to quitting his 9-5, he had learned the hard skills it took (om top of building a decent book of business) to transform is side-hustle into a full time hustle.
It wasn't easy, however. As Dustin put it, "there were zero gurantee's when I did it". He also had a steady paycheck, full benefits and a long-term girlfriend (7-years) who was eager for a proposal.
Isn't that the Millennovator life? When is there ever the perfect time to commit to the nasty, gritty life of full-time entrepreneurship?
"I just moved into a new apartment."
"I just got a bonus with my full-tme gig."
"I just got engaged."
"I don't believe I have what it takes."
Quit the excuses. Listen, you can always not do something. If your gut feels uncomfortable, as the founder of LLCU Matt Horwitz says, go with it. That's where magic is made.
After quitting the 9-5, Dustin relied heavily on self-affirmation from the beginning. He literally told us he woke up each and every morning only to tell himself "you can do this".
We couldn't agree more.
After just 12 months of self-affirmation, Dustin now has a team of 25 employees that includes multiple videographers and wedding specialists.
Listen. A lot can change in your business in just 12 months if you have the will to allow it. If you are working all out, giving up sleep and you want success as bad as you want to breathe...you will see it.
If you needed a kick in the pants to jumpstart your business this is it. Get FIRED UP via Dustin's inspirational story of breathing success into his business in today's episode above.
