“If you get stopped, are you going to stop right there or are you going to find a way around it?”
Jack Blake, co-founder of vlogging startup Eighty/80, provided this gem on the show after sharing how a large objective stood in his way of filming a top influencer, Pat Flynn.
Seriously, he almost missed his shot at vlogging Pat Flynn all because of Disney Land security.
Jack already had a commitment from the influencer behind Entrepreneur on Fire, John Lee Dumas (JLD), to film at Podcast Movement 2017 (a conference dedicated to professional podcasters). With a following topping well into the six-figures mark, Jack knew vlogging JLD could take his business to the next. level
I met Jack at an exclusive event JLD, AWeber and the team at Podcast Websites put on the night prior to the kickoff off Podcast Movement 2017. Despite being an exclusive group, the party was jumping and introductions were happening all over.
I noticed his slick Sony camera/RODE mic set-up and commented on it, soon to find out he ran a vlogging business and was at Podcast Movement following JLD.
He mentioned JLD being one of Eight/80’s early clients. From that point on, I knew Jack wasn’t afraid of hearing “no” and, as a result, was not afraid to reach out to influencers in any niche.
Little did I know his background in sailing with the likes of influencers such as Sam Ovens.
Jack and I found 30-minutes to sit down together at a booth on the Expo Floor at Podcast Movement 2017 to chat. The results?
Learn Jack’s insight on being unafraid to ask, as well as his unique entrepreneurial journey from being a skipper in Croatia to founding Eighty/80 in today’s episode of The Millennovator Podcast.
FYI- Jack found a way around the objective and landed one of the best days of vlogging he had ever experienced.
