Dr. Abigail Hall Blanco is an Associate Professor in Economics at Bellarmine University. She received her PhD in Economics from George Mason University. She is a co-author with Christopher Coyne of the books Manufacturing Militarism: US Government Propaganda in the War on Terror and Tyranny Comes Home: The Domestic Fate of U.S. Militarism. She joins Garrett to discuss development economics, why regions like Appalachia are still so poor, and what solutions economists have for poverty and economic growth.
