In 2011, Variable launched as a commercial production company and creative collective. Variable produced dozens of award-winning campaigns for global brands while playing a pivotal role in the careers of many of today's most influential filmmakers.

While the journey to creating a recognized filmmaking brand was rewarding in many ways, Variable co-founder, Jon Bregel, felt deeply disconnected from his own wellness and personal life, ultimately making the decision to leave the company in 2019. Relaunched by Bregel in 2022, Variable has transitioned its focus from producing content, to encouraging filmmakers who are eager to live well while pursuing career goals.
